LEVEL 2

Level 2 Music Technology continues from the level 1 standards, with the inclusion of a research assessment. They can be studied as standalone units, or can be completed in conjunction with Composition and Performance.

It is advisable to take these standards if students intend to focus on this stream at Level 3.



27657 Demonstrate knowledge of the development and usage of music technology equipment and techniques
This will be assessed by completing a presentation about the development of music technology. It can be presented as either a written assignment or a powerpoint/keynote.

32302 Apply knowledge of MIDI sequencing
his will be assessed by completing a sequencing/recording task which involves using DAW sequencing software.

27703  Setup and Disassemble a PA system for a performing arts situation.
This will be assessed as a practical test and will involve demonstrating knowledge about operating the sound requirements for performances such as Battle of the Bands and Music Soirees.​

32303 Apply knowledge of music notation applications

This will be assessed on a transcribed music score that demonstrates understanding of notation application tools..  Original scores from 2.4 can also be used for this assessment.
